What is Letterboxd?
Letterboxd is a social site for sharing your taste in film. Use it as a diary to record your opinion about films as you watch them, or just to keep track of films you’ve seen some time in the past. Rate, review and tag films as you add them. Find and follow your friends, to see what they’re enjoying. Make lists about any aspect of film you like.
Letterboxd is still in a private beta but I've gotten an invite to try it out myself. I was pretty impressed when I heard about this website. I am a huge movie sucker. I love watching popcorn flicks mostly alone.
But, anyways this service lets you keep a private or public diary where you could rate films, review them, make a list of your favorite romantic comedies or something else that you adore.
Letterboxd does what other movie databases couldn't. Although, IMDB is pretty popular these days but I can see a bright future for Letterboxd.
A feature that I'd love to see in upcoming days is "sharing". I would like to connect my social network accounts, for example: Twitter and Facebook to share what I experience on Letterboxd.
And, if anyone is reading this and wants an invite for this service, I have two for this instance. Hit me up on Twitter.
Meanwhile, check out my Letterboxd page.
